Our laboratory is in charge of compliance with guidelines, standards and qualitative monitoring in production and works closely with R&D when developing new products or making product changes.

Robert and Sebastian know what it takes to ensure that our products meet the applicable safety standards and function perfectly once they are on their way to the customer.

Sebastian, a certified electrical engineer, started as a test technician at Electro Terminal in 2021 and soon rose to the position of deputy lab manager. He gives us an insight into his work in the test lab:

A day in the lab

“We run regular inspections and documentation of our production to monitor the increasingly stringent requirements. From the receipt of test samples to the execution of the test and archiving, everything is done first-hand and coordinated by our laboratory team. This requires technical knowledge as well as time management skills and flexibility. In addition, product changes or customer inquiries, among other things, are first evaluated in the laboratory from a safety point of view in order to check feasibility in-house as a first step. In case a change is implemented, we also adapt the respective product certificate, often in cooperation with external service providers.

Challenges

Regulations and requirements frequently change, so regular inspections and quality checks are an integral part of our work at the lab.

But there are also changes on the customer end, like new application fields, which require compliance with a wide range of regulations.

Our job is to thoroughly test our products, examining every application and suggesting improvements. We also ensure the best possible collaboration with the manufacturing departments to consistently deliver high-quality and safe products.

Working at ET

What I particularly like about Electro Terminal is how we collaborate with various departments. I also enjoy working directly with customers. That keeps it exciting and interesting.”
